VACANCY:           FINANCIAL SECRETARY, Treasury Department, Niue Public Service

 Applications are invited for the position of Financial Secretary.

The successful applicant’s primary responsibility will be to promote efficient management and coordination of all financial management activities within the Public Service, provide quality advice and support to the government; ensure that the policies of the government are implemented and that the department is effectively and efficiently managed.

Applicants are expected to have 5 years of sound financial management practice and work experience at senior executive level, including strategic planning, policy development, and human resource development.  Minimum qualification of a first degree in Financial Management, Accounting or related field and preferably but not necessarily combined with some certification in policy or personnel management.  Excellent communication skills to be able to relate to the public and represent the department at regional and international meetings.

2.       VACANCIES IN THE EDUCATION DEPARTMENT OF THE NIUE PUBLIC SERVICE

Two vacancies namely the Information Technology Teacher and the Economics Teacher exist at the Niue High School of the Education Department. Interested persons must have a Degree in Education majoring in Economics for the Economics position and majoring in Information Technology for the IT position; and both must also obtain the Diploma in Teaching – Secondary. Interested persons must also have the New Zealand’s National Certificate of Education Achievements (NCEA) in both teaching and administrative experiences for Level 1, 2 and 3.
